Ian graduated from the University of Sheffield in 1981 and spent five years as a junior surgeon in the RAF at Cranwell and within the RAF Germany. After leaving the Air Force, Ian gained experience in private practice in Germany where he trained in German dental technology. This interest led to an invitation to join a training programme in the developing field of dental implantology at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, USA. During this time Ian was introduced to O. Hilt Tatum Jnr, one of the most highly respected pioneers in the implant field, who then mentored him in his development at the Edward White Memorial Hospital Complex, St Petersburg, Florida during periods over the next four years. Ian now supports Dr Tatum as a clinical tutor at the Tatum Institute in Birmingham, England. In 1994 Ian became committed to full time private practise when he returned from Germany. With 20 years of clinical experience in this field, Ian prides himself on being able to restore those patients who have poor function or extreme dental needs back to total health, function and easthetics. Ian now plays an integral part of the surgical function at 32Whites and is a valued member of the team.
