Well last Wednesday 24th April, we had our CQC visit. I had been dreading this telephone call (as has all practices), but it had to be done as per the regulations.
We were assessed on 5 outcomes and I am pleased to say that the CQC inspector was happy with the results.
He mainly spoke to me about the practice, what we offered, and wanted to know general information.
He assessed us on Patient care, he spoke to some of our patients, who I would like to thank for taking the time to speak to him. He spoke to Deborah and Claire about our patient care and wanted to see evidence on how we inform patients of this and how we make them feel welcome.
He assessed us on our decontamination procedure. Thanks to Jess for taking on that task and also John for discussing it with the inspector.
Finally he wanted to see staff records and discuss our complaints and feedback comments. He was happy with all that I showed him and also he could see the changes that have been implemented over the past 2 years, that I have been at the practice.
Finally he called Peter, John and myself into the office to give us a quick summary of his visit. He is happy with the way things are and if we are lucky, we will not have to undertake this inspection for another 2 years.
I would like to Thank all the staff for their help and commitment and let us look forward to going out and enjoying our celebratory night in May.
